The Taça de Portugal is an annual club football competition and the most important knockout tournament in Portuguese football. The competition has been organised by the Portuguese Football Federation since it was first held in 1938 and is open to professional and amateur clubs from the four highest divisions.

The matches take place from August-September to May-June. The final is traditionally played at the Estádio Nacional in Oeiras near Lisbon. The winners qualify for the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira (or the runners-up if the winners are also the league champions) and the UEFA Europa League (if they have not already qualified for the UEFA Champions League through league placement).

Prior to 1938, a similar competition had been held since 1922 under the name Campeonato de Portugal, in which the national champion was determined from the various regional championships. The introduction of the Primeira Liga, a nationwide competition on a league basis, as the official national championship in 1938 led to the transformation of the Campeonato de Portugal into the main national cup competition under its current name.

The trophy for the Portuguese Cup winner is the same as that for the Campeonato de Portugal winner, although the titles in the two competitions are counted separately. The first winners of the Taça de Portugal were Académica, who beat Benfica 4-3 in the 1939 final. Benfica is the most successful team in the competition, having won 26 trophies in 38 finals.
