About Oman Professional League

The Oman Professional League was established in 1976 as the top division of the Oman Football Association. Although the competition has been around since 1976, it only went professional in September 2013. There is a double round-robin format in the league, which means each team plays every other team twice. In the Omani top-flight, there is a promotion/relegation system. The worst performers are relegated to the Omani First Division League, the country's second division.
