HT/FT Football Predictions

Halftime-fulltime betting is a market for predicting the outcome at halftime and at the end of the match.

It must match your selections for both half time and full time in order to win a HT FT bet.

The betting on halftime and fulltime is also known as double result betting at some online bookmakers.

HT/FT betting - how it works

Bets on halftime and fulltime are divided into two sub-bets:
  1. The first bet is on the halftime score.
  2. The second bet is on the final score at the end of regulation time.
For each sub-bet, punters must pick one of three results: Home team, Away team, Draw.

There may also be a list of all nine possible outcomes in this market, along with their odds, displayed at some bookmakers.

Whenever a halftime fulltime bet is placed, both sub-bets must win in order for the bet to win. Therefore, if you accurately predict the half time part of the bet but the full time results prediction is incorrect, you lose your bet.

The halftime/fulltime betting system

A halftime and fulltime bet should take two important factors into consideration. First of all, although the odds on this market are better than those on the match betting market, picking two correct results in one match is still twice as challenging as picking one.

Secondly, 58-60% of football goals are scored in the second half. When all things are equal, a bet on a halftime draw has a higher chance of winning than a bet on either team leading at halftime.

Draw/win half time full time betting

It makes sense to bet on a first-half draw followed by your team winning the match since more goals are scored after the break.

When teams are facing a strong defense that will take some time to break down, this is especially true.

Betting on dominant favorites

In football matches, half-time and full-time betting can be an excellent strategy when one team is a heavy favorite.

A dominant team is more likely to score in both halves in this case, so it is reasonable to assume that they will do so. You can then bet on the team leading at halftime and winning the match.

Betting on draw

If both homes and aways have strong defenses and most likely to draw, HT/FT betting can be a valuable strategy.

In this situation, you can bet on a draw for halftime and a drawn match, which will offer better odds than backing the draw as a match wager.

Half Time Full Time Betting FAQ

Browse through these FAQs to find answers to commonly raised questions

In terms of football betting, half-time and full-time bets fall into different categories. There are currently five types of half-time full-time bets.

There are goal bets, winner bets, card bets, corner kick bets, and correct score bets. Bookmakers offer a variety of bet types for players to choose from.

Bets on winners and correct scores are the most popular during half-time and full-time.

Half-time and full-time bets do not include extra time in the game. Only the second half of the game is allowed in the bet. Most betting markets apply this rule.

In case you've never heard of HT/FT 1/2 and don't understand what it means, here is a brief explanation. A HT/FT 1/2 is when the home team wins the first half, but the away team finishes the game with a victory.

At halftime, the home team leads and wins the match.

In the first place, you should know that an X always represents a draw. So, the X/X represents a draw during both the first and second halves.
